Attic Insulation & Re-Insulation

Home » Attic Insulation & Re-Insulation

Did you know most of the air inside your home escapes through the attic when it is under-insulated? Without proper insulation, heat rises and leaks through the attic in the winter, while excessive heat seeps in during the summer. This results in higher energy bills, inconsistent indoor temperatures, and increased strain on your HVAC system. Upgrading your attic insulation is one of the most effective ways to improve your home’s energy efficiency and year-round comfort.

We specialize in fiberglass insulation, offering both blown-in and roll-in options to suit different attic layouts and insulation needs.

Blown-In Fiberglass Insulation – This is our most common and effective insulation method, ideal for attics with irregular spaces, hard-to-reach areas and varying joist heights. The loose-fill fiberglass material is applied using specialized equipment, ensuring even coverage and eliminating air gaps that cause energy loss.

Roll-In Fiberglass Insulation – Also known as batt insulation, this method involves pre-cut fiberglass rolls placed between attic joists for a uniform and structured installation. This option is great for open attic spaces with standard joist spacing, providing a clean and efficient insulation barrier.

Both methods provide superior thermal resistance (R-value), helping homeowners lower heating and cooling costs while maintaining a consistent indoor temperature.

In Illinois, it is recommended to insulate attics to a resistance level of R-49 (16 inches) to R-60 (20 inches) due to the region’s year-round humidity, extreme cold in the winter and sweltering heat in the summer. Proper insulation at this level ensures optimal energy efficiency, reduces strain on HVAC systems and helps maintain consistent indoor comfort despite seasonal temperature fluctuations.

Before installation, we conduct a thorough attic assessment to determine the best insulation type, required R-value, and any necessary air sealing to maximize efficiency and long-term performance.
